About Me
I am from the Houston area but I have also lived in Baytown for a few years out of my life. I was a multi sport athlete all through school which I enjoyed because it kept me busy and active.
Volleyball Background
I began playing volleyball in the 6th grade however I stopped and then decided to continue my volleyball career in the 9th grade. I’ve trained in every position of the game so that I could work to contribute in any form needed. I currently am a 3rd year player at Texas Southern University as a Middle Blocker.
Coaching Philosophy
I feel creating a safe and open environment allows players to feel comfortable to voice their concerns. Communication & being coachable is the key to success. I feel as this is a game of active communication and learning moments, being able to receive and provide communication within your coach’s or teammates gives room for growth and development.
Practice Philosophy
Regarding practice, I usually follow the practice plan but if I feel we need to spend more time in certain drills because of technique I wouldn’t hesitate to do so. I also like to make practice enjoyable but know that focus & dedications is still to be expected. It’s okay to have fun while perfecting your craft correctly.
Coaching Strengths
Defense, Technique, Attacking
Final Notes
I believe every athlete is different when it comes to training. Some are actively focused through the entire sessions while some minds tends to wonder off when they are actively doing drills at the moment. My goal is to work to learning each of my players learning tactics so that I could help create realistic goals to achieve so they could work their way up to their ultimate goals. Mini goals assist with achieving larger goals!!
